Connect an MCP client to Summer to inspect your setup, configure Messenger and read your company's cases from inside your coding or chat assistant. The server address is https://api.gosummer.ai/mcp. It uses Streamable HTTP and OAuth: the client discovers Summer's sign-in page on its own, and you approve the connection in your browser.
Availability: the developer platform is turned on per Summer deployment. Until it is enabled for your workspace, the server answers that it is not enabled.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http summer https://api.gosummer.ai/mcpRun /mcp in Claude Code, choose summer and authenticate. Your browser opens Summer's consent page.
Codex
codex mcp add summer --url https://api.gosummer.ai/mcp
codex mcp login summerApprove the connection in your browser, then start a new Codex chat to use Summer's tools. The CLI and MCP use separate connections; signing in with summer login does not sign in your MCP client.
Cursor
Add Summer to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or to .cursor/mcp.json in a project:
{
"mcpServers": {
"summer": { "url": "https://api.gosummer.ai/mcp" }
}
}Open Cursor's MCP settings and select Connect beside summer.
Other clients
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with Streamable HTTP and OAuth can connect with the server address above. Clients that cannot complete OAuth are not supported; Summer does not issue long-lived personal API keys.
Approve the connection
On Summer's consent page, choose the companies, environments and permissions for this client. Start with staging and Set up Summer. Add Read cases only if the client needs company records. Review and revoke connections in Your account → Security → Agent connections.
What the tools can do
The client sees only the tools your approval allows. Start with summer_account_me and summer_company_capabilities. The summer_setup prompt contains the full setup guide for your company.
An MCP server cannot read files or environment variables on your computer, and Summer never asks for a secret as a tool argument. Steps that move a secret, such as saving a credential value or creating a Messenger installation, return the exact summer CLI command to run locally. See Set up with your AI agent.
